For those students identified as TAG, IGGY have some exciting news to share! They have decided to extend the deadline for entries to their short story writing competition until Friday 6th February 2015 so that individuals have more time to get their entry to them.
They have also decided to hold an awards ceremony to announce the winner of the writing competition at the iconic Shard building in London in April 2015 and all shortlisted entrants will be invited to attend.
There’s a £2,000 cash prize for the winner so students should consider going to: http://ig.gy/writingprize <http://iggy.cmail2.com/t/t-l-trgujd-tulljlml-d/> and entering now!
Students will need their IGGY log-in issued after the launch in December and sent in the post – students who may not have received these due to the Christmas post should see Mr Taylor in C.1.34
A2 Dance students along with four year 11 BTEC Dance students and 5 Year 10 BTEC Dance students had a great opportunity to participate in a dance workshop at school led by a dancer from the local professional dance company Motionhouse. The workshop involved learning contact work and repertory from their recent dance performance “Broken”, which some of the students had seen last year.
The 14 pupils worked incredibly hard, demonstrating motivation and a real willingness to explore new ways of moving and lifting one another.
Miss Lane (Head of Dance) was extremely impressed by all 14 pupils and looks forward to seeing the impact of the workshop in their dance exam and performance work.
Excuse the ICT glitch and the sideways shots!
