ACD #2

Part of our commitment to Stretch & Challenge for All, our 2nd ACD of the year involved a terrific range of activity once again as we froze the curriculum and offered something a bit different.

This included:

  • Y7: Performance Work and Careers-related Learning
  • Y8: Advanced Unlocking Potential for HATs and SBS for All
  • Y9: THE BIG BANG external trip and Technology in-school
  • Y10: Careers
  • Y11: RE Curriculum Coverage
  • Sixth Form: A Range of Future Pathways sessions

There was a lot of effective, interactive learning and these pictures (with more to follow) give just a flavour…

Raising Aspirations

Recently (and as part of our Raising Aspirations Programme), a group of Year 9 HAT students had the opportunity to work with a range of representatives from different parts of the Food and Drink industry.

The workshop was organised through the IGD (Institute of Grocery Distributors).

The students learnt about the importance of presenting yourself in a professional manner, and were able to quiz the volunteers about their day-to-day jobs, learning about their career paths and the sort of skills necessary to develop a successful career. Students were surprised to learn how many different types of jobs there are within that single sector. It was great to see how much the students developed, even over a relatively short period of time.

Many congratulations to them for their proactive approach to the session and for their valuable contributions.
